Transmission Filters Your forklift won’t move without a transmission. It connects your engine and wheels so they rotate in sync with one another, allowing your engine to run at precise ranges of speed. The transmission filter is a key forklift part; it prevents metal shavings, dirt, dust, and debris from contaminating your transmission fluid. You should check your forklift’s transmission filter and fluid every 500 hours and switch out the filters (along with the fluid) every 2000 hours.
